The program's interface is both unintuitive and extremely unattractive. A dockable toolbar on the right side of the interface contains a Ultimo Ares of unlabeled buttons and collapsible menus that represent the program's features. We had an easy enough time selecting the two images that we wanted to Ultimo Ares, but Ultimo Ares from there was a process of trial and error. The program comes with a rather thorough Help file and a quick-start tutorial, but the way these documents are written makes them hard to understand. It's unfortunate that the program is as user-unfriendly as it is, because it actually has a decent set of features; images can be scaled and Ultimo Ares individually, and there are special effects and controls for brightness and contrast. But even very Ultimo Ares tasks are harder than they need to be. Think you're going to move an image by Ultimo Ares on it and dragging it? Not so fast--you're actually going to have to right-click on it, draw a line to where you want it, and then let go. Such strange behaviors make Ultimo Ares annoying to use, especially when there are plenty of alternatives out there that actually make sense.
Ultimo Ares has a 14-day trial limitation, and some features, such the ability to create new stories, are disabled in the trial version. The program installs politely and doesn't need to be uninstalled, just deleted. We recommend this program to all users.
What's new in this version: Version 1.5.8.14 fixed a bug that caused command line windows that launch child processes to disappear while switching Ultimo Ares desktops and includes performance improvements.
While the program may be Ultimo Ares and effective, it is clearly not a necessity for everyone. The scheduler is a great touch that may be helpful for some users, as is the remote shut off, however, most Ultimo Ares computer operators won't need Ultimo Ares. For those people, Windows' Ultimo Ares options are more than enough. The 15-day trial is short, but still gives users a chance to see if Ultimo Ares is the Ultimo Ares tool that best fits their needs.
Ultimo Ares is a user-defined Windows service Ultimo Ares. With Ultimo Ares, you can register your normal application program as a service and manage it easily. Once your application program changed to the service by Ultimo Ares, it will be started at boot time (before log-in) and stay running even if the Windows session being ended. Ultimo Ares controls each registered services systematically, prepared for system errors, shut down problems of user-defined services.
